FAQs

Are reservations required for daycamp?

Yes, reservations are required for Dog Daycare / Dog Daycamp. You can request a reservation here.

What vaccinations are required for my pet's visit?

We believe in health and safety first for all of our guests. All canine guests are required to provide proof of current vaccinations for bordetella, rabies, and distemper. All feline guests are required to provide proof of current vaccinations for rabies and FVRCP. Please give us a call if you have any questions.

What should I bring for my dog’s boarding stay?

We strive to make your pet feel at home when they stay here with us. Every run is furnished with a raised trampoline style bed, metal food bowls, and a constant water supply. You are encouraged to bring up to 2 of your dog’s favorite toy(s), and a small hand towel or article of clothing with your scent on it. We ask that you do not bring large bedding, towels, dishes, or rawhide. There is no additional charge to use our house food of Nutri-Source (a chicken and rice based formula), but you are welcome to bring your own food as well. We ask that all provided food is portioned out by meal per pet per day, to ensure your pet is getting the proper quantity of food. We also offer Milkbone treats free of charge, but of course you are welcome to bring your own as well.

What happens overnight?

Great Valley has a night time shift every night, staffed with experienced, responsible employees. The dogs are let out before bed time, between 9:00pm and 10:00pm, every night. Depending on the day of the week, we reopen in the morning at 7:30am. While no one is physically in the building overnight, the facility is fully alarmed for security and fire. Protocols are in place to assess special situations, contact pet owners, and to transport pets to the vet if needed. We truly treat your pet as if they were our own.

What does inclement weather mean for day camp?

We do have an indoor play area for camp during freezing or wet weather. Our facilities also have a great deal of tree coverage, so some yards can provide canopy-type coverage in light rain or snow. We try to have the dogs outside as much as possible, but the indoor area is available when needed.

What happens in a Snow Storm?

No matter what the weather brings, there will always be a caregiver for your furry family member. We are constantly monitoring weather patterns and when needed, staff members will stay over night  to assure uninterrupted care for each of our guests.

Can your staff administer medications?

Please call us beforehand to discuss what your pet's treatment entails, and we will let you know if we can accommodate your pet’s needs.

Is there an evaluation process for dog day camp?

For first timers we do have an evaluation process for our doggie day camp. For your dog’s first day in camp with us, we ask that you let us know a day ahead that you will be coming, and that you and your pup arrive by 8:30AM. Our managers, together with our day camp supervisors, will evaluate your dog to choose the appropriate play group, based on size, play-style and temperament. If playing in a group does not seem the best fit, we will happily  give your pup individual attention and exercise and report to you at end of day.  Each first time day camper will receive a written report card at pick up.

Why are daily activities required during my dog's stay?

The absolute most important part of the care of our guests is their interaction with staff members and daily exercise. The difference between dogs who receive daily exercise/interaction and dogs who receive only potty outings is remarkable. We observe less barking, less accidents in suites, less anxiety and happier, healthier guests!

Why is there a half-day charge when I pick up my pet on a Sunday?

Mondays through Fridays you have the option of picking up your pet during the morning pick up window of 7:30am - Noon. On those days, there is a 2pm - 6:30pm afternoon pick up window. The afternoon pick up windows incurs a half-day charge (simply half of your pet’s nightly boarding rate).

On Sundays, our office hours are limited to an afternoon window of 3pm-6pm. Sundays are the only day where this half-day fee is automatic. While our office is closed until the afternoon on Sundays, we are otherwise fully operational (feeding, medications, day camps, extra outings, TLC’s, baths, thorough cleaning of every run, etc.).
